What do you get when you mix green and red?
Performance, 2023
Subtitle: Interrupted and dashed lines shiver.
Interrupted lines fold like the corner of a tent.
The process begins within a frame, framing tunnels as tunnels are eaten through apples.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar, growing deer, flying stag beetle, insect, cocoon, butterfly?
Sliding abdomen over thorax; it’s a cycle, the beginning and the end are always united with each other.
In the performance, the developments from caterpillar to butterfly are visible in abstraction. The caterpillar crawls through tunnels of frames to take bites out of
apples. Postures play a central role. Throughout the performance, an audio recording plays, complementing the movements with sounds and quoting instructions on how to fold a paper deer. Like the caterpillar, the flat paper undergoes a transition. The frames are custom-made to body length and shoe size.
